Left-arm spinner Matt Kuhnemann has been cleared to bowl in international cricket by the ICC after being reported for a suspect action following Australia’s 2-0 victory in the two-Test series against Sri Lanka, where he claimed 16 wickets. Kuhnemann, whose professional career dates back to 2017, had never been reported before. He underwent testing in Brisbane and received the results on Wednesday.
The ICC statement confirmed that Kuhnemann had an independent bowling assessment at the National Cricket Centre on February 15, which showed that the elbow extension for all his deliveries was within the permissible 15-degree tolerance under the ICC’s Illegal Bowling Regulations.
